Chrome extension: capture profiles in one click
Install the CVViZ Chrome extension to import candidates from supported job boards in one click.
What the extension does
The CVViZ Chrome extension lets you import candidates from supported job boards directly into your CVViZ workspace without copying and pasting.
Description from the in-app card: "With CVViZ chrome extension you can directly import candidates from job boards. Currently it works for dice.com & indeed.com. Soon introducing github.com & angel.co."
Current support
- Dice.com
- Indeed.com
Coming soon (per the in-app message):
- GitHub
- Angel.co
Note: The Chrome Extension card in CVViZ Settings shows the message "Note: Chrome extension will be enabled soon. Currently it's under review." If you don't see active functionality yet, that review is the reason.
Where to install
- Go to Settings → System → Chrome Extension.
- Click Add to Chrome (the button has a download icon).
- That opens the Chrome Web Store at: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/cvviz-for-chrome/jmfckdaglfbhoccneppnaneclbdbeabf
- Click Add to Chrome on the Web Store page.
- Pin the extension to your toolbar.
- Sign in with your CVViZ account when prompted.
Capturing a profile (typical flow)
- Open a candidate's profile on Dice or Indeed.
- Click the CVViZ extension icon in your browser toolbar.
- The extension extracts the available profile data (name, current title, employer, location, etc.).
- Optionally pick a job to attach the candidate to.
- Save — the candidate is created in your CVViZ database.
Permissions
The extension only reads pages where you actively click its icon. It doesn't track your browsing in the background.
Common issues
- Not signed in — click the icon and re-authenticate with your CVViZ account.
- Extension didn't capture fields — Dice / Indeed occasionally change page layouts; update to the latest extension version.
- "Currently under review" notice persists — the in-app message indicates the extension is still in Chrome Web Store review. If functionality looks broken, this is the likely cause.
Browser support
Chrome only. The extension isn't ported to Firefox, Edge, or Safari.
Tips
- Tag captured candidates with the source board (Dice / Indeed) for attribution.
- Pre-pick a target job in the extension popup before clicking Save — keeps the candidate flowing into the right pipeline.
- If you mostly source from LinkedIn or other unsupported boards, the Find on Web flow inside CVViZ may be a better fit until the extension covers those.
