Appearance settings
The Appearance page is largely preview-only and gated to higher plans. Here's what's configurable today.
What this page is
Settings → Appearance is a workspace-level customization page for theme, layout, and a few brand options.
Important: most controls on the page are preview-only with a notice that "Appearance customization is available on higher plans." If your workspace is on a lower plan, you'll see the previews but can't change the live setting. The page surfaces an Upgrade plan button linking to Settings → Billing.
Theme
The Theme card subtitle reads "Color mode, page style, and brand color".
- Color mode — Light / Dark / System radio buttons. Currently disabled (locked to Light) on most plans.
- Brand color — preview swatches showing 8 colors:
- Red
#ff4d4f - Orange
#fa541c - Yellow
#faad14 - Cyan
#13c2c2 - Green
#52c41a - Blue
#1890ff - Royal blue
#2f54eb - Purple
#722ed1
- Red
Layout & Navigation
Subtitle: "Top menu, side menu, fixed header, and sidebar". The card surfaces preview tiles for the two main layout options (top menu vs side menu) plus a Fixed header toggle. Most controls are also disabled at this layer.
Where customization actually lives today
For users without the higher-plan Appearance customization, brand expression mostly happens elsewhere:
- Careers Page branding at Settings → Career Page — logo, cover photo, theme color, heading color, buttons color, hide-header / hide-cover. See Building your careers page.
- Email signatures at Settings → Email Preferences — per-user.
- Custom domain via the CNAME billing add-on — see Custom domain.
If Appearance customization matters
Click Upgrade plan on the page to land on Billing. Talk to your account team about what's actually unlocked on the higher tiers — the previews indicate the direction, but specific availability depends on your plan terms.
Tips
- Don't promise dark-mode rollout to your team without confirming the plan unlocks it.
- For most brand-expression needs, the Careers Page settings cover what candidates see — focus customization there.
- The Appearance previews are useful for "see what's possible" conversations with leadership, even if you can't toggle them yet.
