Editing, cloning, archiving, and reopening jobs

How to update a job, clone one, change its status, and archive jobs you're done hiring for.

Where the actions live

Open Jobs. Each job card has a "more actions" menu. From there:

  • Edit Job — opens the job edit form.
  • Clone Job — opens the Add Job form pre-filled from the source job. Disabled if the source is in Draft state or doesn't have a clone target.
  • Change Status — opens a status-change modal with the full list of statuses.
  • Archive Job — sends the job to the Archived status.

Job statuses

CVViZ has a fixed list of job statuses. Each is an option on the Change Status modal:

  • Draft — saved but not yet submitted/active.
  • Pending Approval — sent to approvers and awaiting sign-off.
  • Rejected — approval declined.
  • In Progress — the live, hiring state.
  • On Hold
  • Paused
  • Cancelled
  • Closed
  • Archived — past role kept for records; most actions are disabled.
  • Inactive

Editing a live job

  1. From the jobs list, click Edit Job on the job's actions menu.
  2. Make changes across any of the tabs (Details, Benchmark Data, Job Application, Interview Scorecard, Job Boards).
  3. Click Save & Continue on each tab, or Save & Finish at the end.

Drafts and unapproved jobs may be limited in what you can edit after specific operations.

Cloning a job

Cloning is the fastest way to post a similar role.

  1. From the source job's actions menu, click Clone Job.
  2. The Add Job form opens pre-populated from the source.
  3. Edit the title, location, and any specifics.
  4. Save through the tabs.

Candidates from the original job are not copied.

Changing status

  1. From the job's actions menu, click Change Status.
  2. Pick a target status from the list.
  3. Confirm in the modal.

Status transitions are validated — for example, jobs in the Archived state have most actions disabled.

Archiving a job

Use Archive when the job is closed or you want to clean up the active list. From the actions menu, click Archive Job. The job moves to the Archived status; on archived jobs all actions except deletion are disabled.

Candidate data on archived jobs is preserved — you can still see the candidates who came through it for reporting.

Reopening a job

From an archived or paused job, use Change Status and pick In Progress (or another active status) to bring it back.

Quotas and limits

Each plan has an active job limit and a resume limit. If you hit either, the Add Job and Add Candidates buttons surface upgrade prompts. Archive completed roles to free up the active-job slot.

Tips

  • Don't leave finished roles in In Progress — archive them so reporting reflects reality.
  • Use On Hold or Paused for temporary stoppages; Closed when filled; Cancelled when no longer hiring.
  • Clone before duplicating manual work. The cloned job inherits the entire setup from the source.
