Upgrading, downgrading, and adding users

How to change your plan or add more users, and what happens to billing when you do.

This article walks through what you can change yourself in CVViZ — upgrading your plan, adding more users, and what to do if you need to downgrade. CVViZ uses the term Users, not "seats", and the entire flow lives at Settings → Billing.

Upgrading your plan

  1. Open Settings → Billing.
  2. On the Plan tab, click Upgrade Plan in the top-right of the plan header.Note: this button is hidden if you're already on the top plan or on a lifetime deal.
  3. In the upgrade modal, choose:
    • The plan you want.
    • Billing cycle — Monthly or Yearly (some accounts also see Quarterly).
    • Number of users (quantity).
    • Optional: enter a coupon code.
  4. Review the summary. If you're upgrading mid-cycle, you'll see a Prorated Upgrade Cost breakdown:
    • Credit for unused days on your current plan.
    • New plan charge for remaining days in the cycle.
    • GST/tax (Indian customers only).
    • Final Amount due today.
  5. Click pay. The Razorpay checkout opens — enter your card, UPI, or net banking details there.
  6. After payment we wait for confirmation (status moves PENDING → PROCESSING → COMPLETED) and then refresh your plan and invoice list.

Adding more users (or Resumes / Jobs)

You don't need to change plan to add capacity. From the Plan tab:

  1. Find the row in Usage & Limits for the resource you want to expand:
    • Users (top-up code UT)
    • Resumes (top-up code RT)
    • Jobs (top-up code JT)
  2. Click Increase Limit.
  3. Enter the additional quantity in the modal and complete payment via Razorpay.

Once payment completes, the new cap is reflected in Usage & Limits immediately.

Adding credits

For credit-based features, use the Add Credits button on the matching row:

  • Advanced Parsing Credits (ADPC) — only visible if advanced parsing is enabled on your plan.
  • View Contact Credits (PSVC) — visible if your plan includes People Search.

Automations and People Search Credits are display-only — they aren't sold as standalone top-ups. To raise those, upgrade to a plan that includes a higher allowance.

Adding an add-on

Below Usage & Limits is the Add-ons card. Available add-ons appear under Available Add-ons; click Add on the one you want. Common ones:

  • Multiple Domains (MDA) — extra sender domains for outbound email.
  • Custom Careers Domain (CNAME) — host your careers page on your own domain.
  • API — API access for integrations.

What you have already is shown under Active Add-ons.

Switching billing cycle

Monthly ↔ yearly switches happen through the same Upgrade Plan modal — pick the cycle you want at step 3 above. Yearly plans use a discounted monthly-equivalent price (e.g. yearly cost = monthly equivalent × 12).

Downgrading

There's no self-serve downgrade. The Billing UI only supports adding capacity or moving to a higher plan; it does not let you reduce your user count, switch from yearly to monthly, or move to a smaller plan on your own.

If you need to downgrade:

  • open the help widget (bottom-right) and Send us a message with your account email and what you'd like to change.
  • Downgrades typically take effect at the end of your current billing cycle — you keep your existing limits until then.

If you want to stop being billed at the end of the cycle without further changes, you can cancel auto-renewal yourself. Look for the auto-renewal banner on the Plan tab and click Cancel; details are in Cancellation and data export.

What "Users" actually means here

CVViZ counts active users — people who have been invited and haven't been deactivated. Removing or deactivating a user from Settings → Users & Roles frees up that slot, but it doesn't refund the topped-up quantity. Buy capacity for the headcount you actually need.

Trouble with the upgrade flow?

  • If the Razorpay window doesn't open, check that pop-ups are allowed for app.cvviz.com.
  • If payment is taken but the plan doesn't update within ~2 minutes, refresh the Billing page; the page polls for status (PENDING → PROCESSING → COMPLETED).
  • If Billing shows your company info is incomplete before checkout, fill the Update Company Information form first — Indian customers must provide a GST number to invoice correctly.
  • For anything else, see Failed payment troubleshooting or contact the in-product help widget (bottom-right of any CVViZ page).
