How hiring pipelines work
Understand shared pipelines, default stages, and choosing the process for a job.
A hiring pipeline is the sequence of stages used to track a candidate's progress for a jobβfor example, New β Phone Screened β Interviewed β Job Offered β Joined.
Shared pipelines and job stages
Create reusable pipelines in Settings β Hiring Pipelines. In the job editor, use Hiring Pipelines to choose the process for that role.
A pipeline controls the stages offered for candidates in that job. A candidate's stage is separate from the job's own status, such as In Progress or On Hold.
What you can customize
With pipeline customization, you can name a pipeline, arrange stages, edit labels, and add child stages such as Technical interview and Final interview. Essential stages cannot be removed.
Default pipeline
Select Use as the default pipeline when creating or editing a custom pipeline to make it the default choice. Only one custom pipeline can be default. The CVViZ System Default pipeline cannot be edited or deleted.
Choose a pipeline for a job
Open Jobs and choose Edit Job for the role.
Open Hiring Pipelines.
Select the pipeline card and review its stages.
Click Save & Continue or Save & Finish.
If none fits, use Create New Pipeline or Create Hiring Pipeline to open settings. Return to the job and refresh the available pipelines after saving.
Before changing a shared pipeline
Review jobs using the pipeline before renaming, removing, or reordering stages. Saving a pipeline does not move candidates to another stage.
Troubleshooting
Confirm the correct pipeline is selected in the job editor and save changes.
Reopen the candidate's stage dialog after saving the pipeline.
If customization or saving is disabled, ask an administrator to check access and subscription.
If stages fail to load, retry and contact support with the job and pipeline names.
