Exporting reports (CSV, JPEG, PNG, SVG)
How to export each report — CSV for data, image formats for slides. (No PDF export in CVViZ.)
Export options across all reports
Every report under /reports has the same export pattern. The button reads Export to CSV with a dropdown for image formats:
- Export to CSV — data file for spreadsheet analysis.
- Export to JPEG — chart screenshot (lossy, smaller file).
- Export to PNG — chart screenshot (lossless, sharper).
- Export to SVG — chart as vector graphic (scales to any size, ideal for slides).
What each report's CSV contains
How to export
- Open the report (/reports/jobs, etc.).
- Apply the date range and other filters you want — the export reflects the current view.
- Click Export to CSV for data, or open the dropdown for an image format.
- The file downloads to your browser.
Permissions
Exports inherit the report's view permission — if you can see the report, you can export it. Users Summary specifically requires.
Image-format choice in practice
- SVG — best for slide decks. Scales without pixelation.
- PNG — best for embedding in docs / Notion / Slack — lossless and widely supported.
- JPEG — smallest file. Use only when file size is critical (rarely needed).
Privacy
Exports include all data in the current filtered view, including names and any PII visible in the report. Treat exports like any HR document — don't email them to personal addresses, don't drop them in unsecured shared drives.
Tips
- Apply filters before exporting — there's no post-export filter step.
- For ad-hoc analysis, CSV always wins over images.
- For QBR slide decks, SVG keeps the chart crisp at any zoom.
- Watch out for the "Received" typo on the Vendors Summary CSV — it's preserved from CVViZ, so consider correcting it before sharing externally.
