Your first job post: a 5-minute walkthrough

Step-by-step guide to creating your first job in CVViZ — three creation paths, the form fields, and the tabbed setup flow.

Before you start

Have these handy:

  • Job title (or an existing JD you can paste / upload).

  • Department this role rolls up to.

  • Location (country, state, city) and whether the role is remote.

  • Experience range and salary range.

  • If your account is a staffing agency, the customer (client) the role is for.

Step 1 — Open the Add Job form modal

  1. From the top nav, click Jobs.

  2. Click the Add Job button.

A modal titled Add a New Job appears with three options:

  • Start from Blank — open the empty form and fill it yourself.

  • Paste Job Details — paste an existing JD; CVViZ uses AI to pre-fill the form for you to review.

  • Upload a Job File — upload a .txt, .pdf, .doc, .docx, or .rtf; AI parses and pre-fills the form.

Pick whichever matches what you have in hand.

Step 2 — Details tab (basics)

The form lives at the Add Job form and is split into tabs. Start with Details.

  • Job Title (required) — what candidates see. Tooltip suggests leading with skill/specialty (e.g. "Senior Python Developer") rather than internal levels (e.g. "Engineer III"). There's a character meter under the field.

  • Job Code (required) — auto-generated from the title; click the refresh icon next to it to regenerate, or type your own.

  • Customer — only appears if your account is configured as a staffing/recruitment agency. Pick the end client; you can add a new customer inline.

  • Department — searchable dropdown. Add a new department inline if needed.

  • Job Type (required) — Full Time, Part Time, Contract, Internship, etc. Defaults to Full Time.

  • Job Functions — categorize the role's discipline.

Specification

  • Education Level and Qualifications.

  • Minimum / Maximum Experience.

  • Salary (with currency).

Location

Country, State, City — chained autocomplete. Toggle the Remote option for remote / hybrid roles.

Skills and Description

  • Skills — add the skills relevant to the role.

  • Job Description — rich-text editor.

Step 3 — Save & Continue through the tabs

Each tab has a Save & Continue button at the bottom that saves the current tab and advances to the next. The final tab's button reads Save & Finish.

The full tab sequence:

  1. Details — what you just filled in.

  2. Benchmark Data — upload sample resumes that represent your ideal candidate; CVViZ uses these to improve AI matching.

  3. Job Application — application form fields and screening questions. Pick reusable screening questions from your library or add new ones.

  4. Interview Scorecard — pick or build the evaluation template panelists will fill out.

  5. Job Boards — connect external boards (LinkedIn, Indeed, Glassdoor, plus 20+ free boards) and configure distribution.

Use the URL ?tab=details, ?tab=benchmark-data, etc. to deep-link to a specific tab.

Cloning a similar job

From any existing job's actions menu, click Clone Job. It opens the Add Job form pre-populated with the source job's details. Edit the title, location, and any specifics, then save.

Tips

  • If you already have a JD in any common file format, the Upload path is faster than typing.

  • For repeated roles, cloning beats re-entering from scratch.

  • The Job Code is editable — match it to your internal tracking format if you have one.

  • LinkedIn job posting requires your LinkedIn Company ID in the company profile (see Completing your company profile).
