Review and correct parsed resume information
Understand standard and advanced resume uploads, review extracted fields, and re-parse when needed.
Resume parsing extracts information from a CV into a candidate profile. Review the result before using it to evaluate or contact a candidate.
What parsing can extract
CVViZ can extract contact details, skills, education, work history, and experience, depending on the document and available parsing. Unclear source information can leave fields incomplete. Parsing does not verify a candidateβs claims.
The original document is available from Resume & files β Resume in the candidate profile. Use it to compare the extracted details with the CV.
Standard and advanced parsing
Available parsing depends on your plan and remaining advanced parsing allowance. Upload Candidates automatically uses Advanced parsing when an allowance is available. Follow the requirements in your upload window.
Advanced parsing uses a separate allowance. If it is unavailable or a limit appears, ask an administrator to check your access and usage in Settings β Billing.
To upload directly to a candidate profile, open Resume & files β Add a resume. This accepts PDF, DOC, DOCX, or RTF under 2 MB. Select the file and choose Upload resume. The bulk-upload limits above do not apply to this window.
Upload and review a CV
Open a job's candidates list or the Candidate Database and select Add Candidates.
Choose An existing job for a job, or Talent pool for future opportunities. Check the selected destination at the top of the import window; use Change before importing if needed.
Choose Upload Candidates, select supported files, and choose Upload resumes.
Wait for processing and review each fileβs result.
Open a successfully processed candidate. Compare the Profile information with the Resume document.
Correct any missing or inaccurate fields before moving the candidate forward.
If a duplicate is reported, review the existing candidate instead of repeatedly uploading the same document.
Correct a few fields
Open Profile and edit the affected section. Correct details against the CV, then save. Keep email addresses exactly as supplied, including hyphens and plus signs. You need the relevant candidate-editing permissions.
Re-parse an existing CV
Re-parsing refreshes extracted details from the stored CV. A valid email already saved in the profile is retained; a missing email can be filled from the CV. Other extracted information and manual corrections can change, so review the updated profile.
Open the candidates list for the relevant job.
Select the candidates whose stored CVs need to be processed again.
Choose Re-parse Resumes from the available actions.
Review the selected resumes and confirm the action. If an advanced extraction action is shown, check its credit notice before proceeding.
Wait for the results and review the updated profiles. Handle failed files separately.
Follow the displayed selection limit. To replace an outdated CV, upload the new file through the existing candidateβs resume controls before re-parsing.
Get cleaner results
Prefer a text-based PDF or DOCX where the text can be selected and copied.
Keep contact details in ordinary text and use clear headings for Experience, Education, and Skills.
Check scanned or image-only PDFs carefully. Obtain a text-based copy or apply optical character recognition before uploading if extraction is incomplete.
Avoid repeatedly processing an unreadable source file. Correct the source or edit the profile from a reliable copy.
