Deactivate or reactivate a teammate
Remove workspace access safely, preserve recruiting records, and invite an inactive user back.
Use Deactivate user when a teammate should no longer access CVViZ. Reactivation invites the existing person back; it does not create another user record.
Before you start
An administrator with user-management access must deactivate users. You cannot deactivate your own account, and CVViZ protects the last active administrator.
Arrange a handover of open jobs, candidate follow-ups, tasks and scheduled work. Reassign work and review provider connections separately.
Deactivate a user
Open Settings β Team & Access β Users.
Search for the person and confirm the email and workspace/company.
Open the row's more-actions menu and choose Deactivate user.
Review Deactivate this user? and confirm only for the intended person.
Confirm the list shows Inactive. Review the handover with the remaining team.
Deactivation removes access while retaining the user and recruiting history.
Reactivate an inactive user
Filter the Users list to Inactive and find the person.
Check that the organization has an available user seat and that their assigned role and email domain remain appropriate.
Select Reactivate User and confirm.
Check the resulting Invited status and ask the person to complete the new invitation.
After acceptance, confirm they are Active and can access the intended work.
Reactivation requires an available seat and eligible access. The user becomes active after accepting the invitation.
What to review separately
Ownership and tasks: reassign open work.
Email and calendars: inspect provider connections and revoke or disconnect them through the appropriate integration/provider workflow where required.
External accounts: vendor, customer-contact and identity-provider access have their own controls.
Billing: deactivation does not reduce purchased seats or automatically issue a refund.
If the action is unavailable
Ask an administrator to perform a deactivation if your account lacks that authority.
Keep another active administrator before attempting to deactivate an administrator.
For a seat-limit message during reactivation, review user capacity before retrying.
If an invitation cannot be queued, inspect the saved user's status and follow the error guidance before another attempt.
