Disconnecting and reconnecting integrations safely
How disconnect / reconnect works for each CVViZ integration, and what stays vs what stops.
The integrations CVViZ ships
Settings β Integrations exposes three sections:
- Email & Communication β Outlook, Gmail, Dedicated Email, Outlook Calendar, Email Retention Policy.
- Voice & SMS β Twilio.
- Job Boards β Indeed Easy Apply (Super Admin only).
Webhooks live separately at /settings/webhooks. Self-scheduling pages (the scheduling integration) live at /settings/meeting_links. (No Slack / Teams integration to disconnect.)
Outlook (email)
- Click: Disconnect on the Microsoft 365 / Outlook card.
- What stays: past emails on candidate timelines.
- What stops: new replies stop syncing; outbound emails fall back to the CVViZ relay.
Gmail
- Click: Disconnect on the Gmail / Google Workspace card.
- What stays: past emails on candidate timelines.
- What stops: new sync from Gmail; outbound emails fall back to relay.
Dedicated Email Address
- Click: Disconnect on the Dedicated Email Address card.
- What stays: past emails.
- What stops: shared-inbox routing.
Outlook Calendar
- Click: Disconnect on the Outlook Calendar card.
- What stays: already-scheduled interview events on Outlook.
- What stops: new scheduling stops writing to your calendar; free/busy reads stop.
Twilio
- Click: Remove on the Twilio Voice & SMS card.
- What stays: past SMS / call records on candidate timelines.
- What stops: new outbound SMS / calls.
Indeed Easy Apply
- Click: Toggle Easy Apply switch off.
- What stays: active job postings on Indeed continue per Indeed's own logic.
- What stops: new jobs no longer auto-post with Easy Apply.
Webhooks
- Action: Delete the webhook in Settings β Webhooks.
- What stays: recent delivery log for past events.
- What stops: further outbound deliveries.
Self-scheduling pages (the scheduling integration)
- Action: Delete or disable the scheduling page in Settings β Scheduling Pages.
- What stays: past bookings on calendars.
- What stops: the public scheduling URL stops accepting new bookings.
Reconnecting cleanly
- Note any custom configuration (sender preferences, webhook event subscriptions, the scheduling integration availability rules) before disconnecting.
- Disconnect on the relevant card.
- Re-click Connect, sign in to the same account where possible.
- Re-apply any custom configuration.
- Test β send a test email / book a test slot / trigger a test webhook.
When to disconnect on purpose
- You're switching providers (Gmail β Outlook).
- You discovered a permission scope you don't want.
- An employee left and their personal connection needs to be revoked.
- You're rotating a Twilio Auth Token after a security event.
Force-disconnect by an admin
Admins can disconnect or rotate an integration through the same Integrations page; specific user-level disconnect via Settings β Users β Edit User is the path for offboarding.
Common pitfalls
- Disconnecting email mid-day β outbound emails queued via your inbox may fail. Disconnect at end of day.
- Disconnecting calendar with live interviews β past invites stay but reschedules need to be re-handled. Reconnect first if possible.
- Disconnecting and reconnecting same-day β token caches sometimes need 5β10 minutes to clear.
