Calendar sync (Outlook / Microsoft 365)

Connect your Outlook calendar so CVViZ can write interview events to it. Outlook is the supported provider in the calendar integration.

Supported provider

The Calendar integration in CVViZ supports Outlook / Microsoft 365. Sign-in uses Microsoft authentication and requests permission to read and write your Microsoft 365 calendar.

The component is at Settings β†’ Integrations.

What CVViZ does with calendar access

  • Writes interview events to your calendar when you schedule via the Interview Scheduler or Calendar Event modal.
  • Reads existing events to detect conflicts.
  • Reflects reminder timing via the field on events.

Connecting Outlook Calendar

  1. Go to Settings β†’ Integrations.
  2. Find the Calendar / Outlook card.
  3. Click Connect.
  4. Sign in with your Microsoft account in the OAuth popup.
  5. Grant the requested calendar scopes.

Some workspaces require an Azure AD admin to consent to the CVViZ app first β€” if your sign-in fails with a "needs admin consent" error, forward the link to your IT team.

Disconnecting

Click Disconnect on the same card. Existing calendar events stay; new scheduling stops writing to your calendar.

Common issues

  • Token expired β€” disconnect and reconnect. Microsoft authentication tokens occasionally need a fresh OAuth round.
  • "Admin consent required" β€” your IT must approve the CVViZ Microsoft application in Azure AD.
  • Events appearing in wrong time zone β€” confirm the event's time zone field on creation; CVViZ writes events in the time zone you set, but client display depends on each calendar's settings.

Privacy

CVViZ requests Calendars.ReadWrite scope so it can write CVViZ-created events. Other calendar contents are read only to detect conflicts; nothing is stored beyond busy-time metadata for scheduling purposes.

Tips

  • Connect under the same Microsoft account you use for normal work.
  • If you need Google-side calendar sync today, schedule via the Calendar Event modal, copy the meeting URL into your Google Calendar manually, or use scheduling-integration-powered self-scheduling pages which do connect to Google.
