Set up and verify the Referral Portal
Configure a saved Referral Portal address and verify employee and external audience sign-in before launch.
Use the Referral Portal to let referrers submit candidates and follow their referrals. Confirm that the intended audience can sign in before sharing its address.
Before you start
You need access to Settings โ Recruitment Setup โ Referral Portal. Choose a unique portal subdomain. Company-domain sign-in uses the domain of the companyโs account email.
Have at least one suitable job ready for referrals. Job sharing and employee referral attribution are separate: an ordinary social-sharing link does not identify a particular employee referrer.
Configure the portal
Open Referral Portal and turn on Enable referral portal.
Enter the Portal URL subdomain. Use the validation feedback to correct an invalid or already-used name.
Under Who can access the portal?, choose the intended access setting. For an initial employee launch, use Only company email domain.
The editor also offers Selected email domains, Specific email addresses, and Anyone with the link. Selected-domain entries omit the @ symbol; specific-email entries use full addresses. Confirm that new external referrers can sign in before launching broader access.
Select Save Changes. Wait for success, then copy the saved portal URL.
Verify the referrer experience
Open the copied portal URL in a separate browser session.
Request a login link using an intended employeeโs company-domain email, then check their inbox.
Open the latest login email and use its link promptly. Login links expire after 15 minutes; request a new link if needed.
Confirm that the expected jobs and referral actions are available. Obtain the candidateโs permission before submitting a referral.
Before launching partner or public access, confirm sign-in with a new external referrer. Contact support if external self-registration needs assistance.
Changes and consequences
Changing a subdomain changes the portal address. Verify the new saved URL and update invitations or website links that use the old address. After turning the portal off, check its public availability. Contact support to revoke a particular referrerโs existing access.
Follow your organizationโs referral approval, reward, and candidate-consent process.
Troubleshooting
Subdomain unavailable: choose another name and save again.
No login email: check spam, the exact email address, the company email domain, and whether the referrer is registered or disabled. Use the login email to confirm access.
Expired or invalid link: request a fresh link and use the newest email.
External audience cannot sign in: contact support with the intended domain or audience and saved access setting.
No jobs or unexpected referral behavior: confirm job eligibility and give support the portal URL and job ID.
See Share jobs and use referral links for ordinary social sharing and how it differs from referral links.
