Cancellation and data export

How to cancel your CVViZ subscription cleanly and export all your data.

This article covers two related but separate things: stopping CVViZ from charging you (auto-renewal vs. full account cancellation), and getting your data out before you leave.

Cancelling auto-renewal

If you have an active subscription with auto-renewal on, an info banner is shown at the bottom of Settings β†’ Billing on the Plan tab:

Your subscription will renew automatically at the end of the current cycle. You can cancel auto-renew to stop future renewals.
  1. Click the Cancel button on that banner.
  2. A confirmation pops up β€” Cancel auto-renew? Click Yes.
  3. You'll see a success message: "Auto-renew canceled. It will stop at period end."

What happens after:

  • Your plan stays active for the rest of the current billing cycle. You don't lose access immediately.
  • The next renewal will not be charged.
  • At cycle end, the account drops back to the free plan (or to Expired, depending on your plan setup) β€” your data stays.

The banner only appears when:

  • Auto-renewal is currently enabled, and
  • The subscription cycle hasn't already completed, and
  • There's an active Razorpay subscription ID on the account.

If you don't see it, your subscription is either already not auto-renewing, or you're on a one-time / lifetime plan. There's nothing to cancel.

Changed your mind?

To re-enable auto-renewal after cancelling, run any upgrade flow (e.g. click Upgrade Plan on the Plan tab) and complete checkout with auto-renewal selected β€” Razorpay will set up a fresh subscription mandate.

Full account cancellation

There's no "Close account" button in the UI. To fully close your account:

  1. Cancel auto-renewal first using the steps above (so no further charges happen while you're coordinating).
  2. open the help widget (bottom-right) and Send us a message from the admin email on the account, asking to close it.
  3. Tell us if you want all account data deleted, or kept for a defined period.

Refund eligibility depends on your contract; we'll confirm in the same thread.

Per-candidate (GDPR) requests

If a specific candidate has asked you to delete or export their data, use Settings β†’ Compliance β†’ Data Requests. From there you can record and process individual Export or Delete requests against a candidate's record. This is the GDPR / data-subject workflow β€” it's per-person, not the whole account.

Account-wide export

CVViZ doesn't currently offer a one-click "export everything" button for an account. Before cancelling, the practical options are:

  • Jobs β€” open each job at /jobs/<id> and use the available export / share options on the job page; pipeline data is visible per job.
  • Candidates β€” search results pages support exporting visible candidate lists (where your plan permits). Resume files are downloadable from each candidate profile.
  • Reports β€” Reports & Analytics exposes the metric-level data for the time ranges you select.
  • Email/comms history β€” visible per candidate or per job, but not exportable in bulk through the UI.

If you need a one-off bulk export of jobs, candidates, notes, attachments, or audit logs before closure, open the help widget (bottom-right) and Send us a message. Allow several business days β€” these exports are produced manually.

API export

If your plan includes the API add-on, you can pull jobs, candidates, and related entities programmatically. See the API & Developers articles for endpoints and authentication.

How long is data retained after cancellation?

If you only cancel auto-renewal, all data stays β€” you just stop being billed. If you ask support to fully close the account, retention follows the timeline you confirm in that email thread (immediate deletion, or a fixed grace period). Once data is deleted, it cannot be recovered, so make sure exports are complete before confirming.
